Teravalis Offers Countless Opportunities with Over 7,000 Acres of Open Space

April 22, 2024

Open spaces provide a wealth of benefits for Arizona’s residents, both its people and local wildlife. Access to places like parks, hiking and biking trails, and recreation areas keep people active and healthy. Meanwhile, wildlife corridors and living mountains allow native species to migrate freely and thrive without imposing on urban environments.

Teravalis will be a community that focuses on meeting the needs of its residents while respecting the surrounding environment. Howard Hughes has committed to reserving 20% of the community’s land as open space. Roughly 7,000 acres of land will be set aside for those looking to lead a more active lifestyle or to be closer to the natural beauty found in Buckeye, AZ.

From parks to amenity centers, here is a small snapshot of the outdoor recreation spaces you can expect at Teravalis.

Floreo: Where Outdoor Activities Thrive

We named our first village Floreo, a Latin phrase that means to bloom or blossom. With so much to discover, Floreo will be a place for residents to grow and thrive. In the 3,029 acres of Floreo, 300 acres will be reserved for parks and spaces where the community can gather for outdoor events, local soccer games, a brisk run, or a game of pickleball.

The parks in Floreo will be open to all residents, which will help bring the community closer together to enjoy shared hobbies and activities. Study after study shows that strong social connections help improve your overall physical and mental health. People who have a robust social network of friends and family enjoy a better sense of belonging and support. Also, when communities provide a wealth of activities, like the ones you’ll find in Floreo, residents are more likely to stay active and physical, leading to better health and well-being.

Residents “Flourish” With Exciting Outdoor Spaces

In the heart of Floreo, you will find Flourish, a state-of-the-art amenity center that is surrounded by even more wide-open spaces. Inside Flourish, residents will find a substantial array of amenities, including workstations, a cafe, a gym, a resort-style pool, and a lounge with a view overlooking the local landscape.

Flourish will offer several outdoor spaces, including spacious common areas with an abundance of seating where people can mingle or take part in picnics and private events. There will also be places where neighbors can enjoy outdoor games like cornhole or bocce ball. The common areas will also provide space for people to stay centered with activities like yoga.

Hikers, runners, and nature lovers will also have a place to get their steps in or take in the sights with our Flourish discovery trail. This tranquil trail aims to connect the Teravalis community to Buckeye’s stunning desert surroundings.

Our commitment to providing outdoor recreation for everyone is rooted in our mission to bring people closer to nature. With some of the initial home builders just announced, Teravalis is well on its way to becoming Arizona’s largest master planned community with plenty of open space to enjoy for decades to come.
