Energy-Efficient Home Innovations Make Their Way to Teravalis

Teravalis is taking a sustainability-first approach that includes respecting the environment, conserving our resources, and providing cost-saving approaches that help residents save money. Together with our award-winning homebuilding partners, we’re equipped with the right tools and talent to provide the very latest technologies for future residents of Teravalis and will continue to deliver excellence for decades to come.

With our first builder model homes now open and more on the way, here are just some of the energy-efficient home innovations offered by our homebuilder partners.

Sustainably Built for Your Health

Air quality is vital to our health, and the way we maintain it indoors should have the least possible impact on our environment. Builders like KB Home and Meritage Homes take this mission seriously. They include high-performance ventilation all throughout their new homes to allow fresh outdoor air to enter while reducing indoor air pollutants. In fact, Meritage was the first national builder to become Indoor airPlus qualified by exceeding the national standards set forth by the EPA.

Each new home KB Home and Meritage Homes build includes MERV-13 rated air filters, which are among the highest rated air filters on the market. These filters work to remove dust, pollen, mold spores, and other microorganisms to improve air quality in every room.
New homes also include high-quality spray-foam insulation to control air quality while also maintaining temperatures indoors, which leads to lower heating and cooling bills.

Low Impact Heating and Cooling

The Arizona climate makes activities like hiking, camping, and swimming year-round, a way of life here. But when it comes to indoor cooling, Arizona homebuilders aim for the highest standards to provide the most comfort at the lowest annual costs.

Lennar has demonstrated excellence in providing affordable, energy-saving HVAC systems that make a difference. Lennar includes high Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) air conditioning units in new homes, along with programmable thermostats, and dual-pane Low E-vinyl windows to help keep heating and cooling costs low.

Builders like KB Home include high-efficiency windows and insulation alongside their low-energy HVAC systems. These elements work to keep warm air indoors in the winter and cold air indoors in the spring and summer months. They also provide enhanced air sealing to maintain inside temperatures, which results in lower energy consumption.

Water-Conserving Fixtures

Teravalis and our builder partners are committed to conserving water to maintain our desert’s most precious resource.

Every new home in Teravalis will be WaterSense certified, which helps families save around 50,000 gallons each year. For example, Century Communities includes WaterSense-certified plumbing fixtures and irrigation control to reduce water usage—and lower water bills in the process. KB Home, New Home Co., Meritage Homes, and more build homes designed to keep usage low. Their homes feature several low-usage additions, like low-flow faucets, Flow-Smart showerheads, high-performance toilets, and more.

Smarter Home Technology

New technology has made energy conservation easier than ever, with smart home appliances that work to keep costs low. Beyond smart thermostats and LED lighting, today’s technology offers residents incredible control within their homes.

New Home Co.’s EVO Home Tech infuses digital integration within the home to provide unparalleled connectivity between appliances. Through Wi-Fi connectivity, homeowners can have control over their refrigerator, laundry machines, garage door, and more. Their homes also feature Moen Flo smart technology that allows people to manage their main water line from their mobile device in case of leaks.

EV drivers and renewable energy users will also find a selection of homes that accommodate their needs. Century Communities builds all new homes EV Smart Charger-ready, with all the necessary wiring ready for installation. Each home is also solar-ready, with extra roof space and proper electrical infrastructure to install solar panels.

LED lighting will also be prevalent across every new home in Teravalis. From DRB Homes to Courtland Communities, each home is outfitted with the latest LED lighting to reduce energy consumption.

Making a Difference in Our Community

While new home technology allows us to do our part in maintaining our precious energy and water, it also helps our residents save money on everyday costs.

We’re proud to have partnered with some of the most innovative and award-winning homebuilders in the nation, all of whom include the latest energy-saving technology in every home they build.
